Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back to school! You are now embarking on a tremendous adventure called FIFTH GRADE! I am very excited about our year ahead. I anticipate a great year filled with explorations and accomplishments. It will be a year of learning and growth as we work together as a team to create the best possible experience for each student individually and our class as a whole. Our classroom community will be grounded in mutual respect, provide a comfortable environment that invites all questions, and inspire to make learning a life-long adventure.
Please allow me to briefly introduce myself. This will be my fifth year teaching fifth grade at Mariposa and my eighteenth year teaching overall. I have taught all grades second through sixth and have enjoyed them all. Outside of the classroom, I spend a lot of time playing bus driver to my three children taking them to various activities. I have a passion for traveling and love to cook a variety of foods.
This year, I encourage students to step out of their comfort zone, try new things, and not be afraid of failure. Fifth grade is a year where students learn to be more independent, and use mistakes as learning opportunities. Never be afraid to approach me if you have any questions or concerns. I am ready for the best year yet! Are you?
