Mariposa Monarchs Soar
Learning best takes place in a positive, safe, and friendly environment. The purpose of any well-designed discipline plan is to have the child take responsibility for his/her own actions. Our system gives students a visual assessment of how they are doing. The plan consists of both positive reinforcement and consequences for poor choices.

Classroom Expectations

Outstanding!: This level is reached when a student has made several great choices throughout the day.  They will receive a Monarch Moment

Great Example!: When a child has made one/some good choices, they get to clip up to this level. They will receive a sticker for the day!

Ready to Learn:  Everyone starts the day on green everyday.  Most days children will be on green the entire day.  Please note that being on green is not a negative thing—it means they are following the class rules!  They will receive a sticker for remaining on green.

Warning: This level is reached when a child makes a poor choice.  The students are first given a verbal warning first and  if the student continues to make red choices, this would be a clip down. This is a warning only and have many opportunities to clip back up to Ready to Learn.

Think About it:  If red choices continue to be made, the students are going to clip down to the Think About it level  and will have a consequence.  This can mean time out from a fun center choice, missing a desired activity, changing seats,  No sticker is received for clipping down…

Parent Contact:  If a red choices continue, students will clip down to Parent Contact. This means  I will be contacting you to let you know what happened if your child reached this level.  If something serious happens, students will be referred to the office.
